WARDZEL JOINS GRACE CONSTRUCTION PRODUCTS AS VICE PRESIDENT OF ENGINEERING AND MANUFACTURING SUPPORT
CAMBRIDGE, MA - Grace Construction Products has named John R. Wardzel Vice President of Engineering and Manufacturing Support. His responsibilities include global direction for the company's Engineering, Logistics, and Environmental Health, Safety and Quality Assurance functions. He is a member of Grace Construction Products' worldwide manufacturing council, which was formed last year to oversee these critical operations.
Wardzel will report directly to Robert J. Bettacchi, president of Grace Construction Products. "We are very pleased that John has joined the Grace team. He brings to our organization an outstanding record of accomplishment in manufacturing and the health, safety and quality assurance arenas with a leading global organization, and we are confident that he make significant contributions to our operation," said Bettacchi.
Wardzel brings to Grace 11 years of experience in engineering and manufacturing with General Electric, working in the company's structured products, plastics and silicones units. Most recently, he was General Manager of Manufacturing for GE Structured Products with responsibility for operations in the US, Canada and Brazil. In this capacity, he significantly enhanced the unit's safety and quality performance. Under his direction, the unit improved its manufacturing output by 9 percent and its safety record by 20 percent, as measured by a decreased incidence in recordable injuries.
Prior to joining GE, Wardzel was a research engineer with Allied-Signal Corporation for seven years. A native of New Jersey, Wardzel holds a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering from New Jersey Institute of Technology.
